So What is Neuro-linguistic Programming?
In simplest terms, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is considered to be the Language of the Mind.
Neuro – Mind
Linguistic – Language
Programming – Mechanism
The human mind is the most powerful yet the most misused source of energy of all. People often act how they feel hence most human behaviours simply driven by how they feel.
NLP was developed by John Grinder who had a background in linguistics and Richard Bandler whose background was in mathematics and gestalt therapy. Their focus was centered upon making explicit models of human excellence and their work began during the seventies. This later evolved into some of the common NLP techniques and NLP theory that is still being used and adapted today.
Have you noticed that more and more people of all ages are undergoing negative emotions such as stress, frustration, and depression than ever before.
Whilst the universal education systems have successfully set us to well structured frames and given pathways to fit those frames, there is so little done for each one to be anything out of those frames. In fact, you would be considered a misfit if you do not fit the frame.
As I mention often, YOU are one in a 7 billion. However, individuals are so busy fitting in instead of being the unique human being they are meant to be, serving a unique purpose. This is the main reason that many to feel a deep sense of misalignment when they reach mid-age especially when they are engaged in professions that is nowhere within their calling.
NLP greatly help people discover that inner calling and help them discover their personal values. This helps employed individuals connect their being withe their organizations’ objectives and day-to-day goals and help people be present in the moment in whatever task they are involved in.
This powerful program is in the rise world-wide and I’m proud to be one of the few NLP Practitioners in Sri Lanka eager to expose you to the wonderful journey of discovering yourself.
